BlackOut UK History Event

***RESCHEDULED – NOW TAKING PLACE ON 6TH DECEMBER***

On Sunday 6th December we partner with BlackOut UK for Assembly:Erased?, a new kind of event where the border between audience and speaker, expert and lived experience, them and us is broken down and new connections made. Where Black Queer experiences move from the margins to centre stage.

We’re engaging with historians, museum curators, artists and social commentators to help us better understand our background and look at the need to rediscover and celebrate Black Queer Lives in Black British History. And we will also be sharing some research into someone who should be better-known: Elephant and Castle GP, Pan-Africanist and LGBT rights campaigner, Dr Cecil Belfield-Clarke.
